Jim Kassim’s Football Journey

From a young age, he showed natural talent, energy, and a deep passion for football at WSA. During his primary school years, he actively participated in school sports, often standing out during inter-school football activities. This early exposure helped him build confidence, teamwork skills, and the discipline that later shaped his football journey.
It was during this stage that he was first noticed by local community coaches who saw potential in his game intelligence and commitment.

Jim Kassim began his football journey at Wire Soccer Academy before joining Kisumu National Polytechnic to further his education after high school. While at the polytechnic, he featured for Winam Soccer Academy, competing in the Kisumu County League. During a league match at Moi Stadium, Kisumu, Gusii FC coach Kassim Junior noticed his outstanding performance and invited him to join the club. Jim officially signed for Gusii FC in January 2022, during the 2021/2022 mid-season, marking a significant step in his professional football career.

Golan Prowess: A Rising Goalkeeping Talent

Golan Prowess began his football journey at a young age in the academy, where his exceptional reflexes and natural goalkeeping ability quickly set him apart. Even as a child, his composure, shot-stopping skills, and command of the penalty area marked him as a special talent. By the time he completed his primary school education, his reputation had grown significantly. Several top secondary school football powerhouses expressed strong interest in securing his services, including renowned institutions such as St. Antony Boys High School, Goseta Boys, and Kakamega School.

Ultimately, Golan joined St. Mary’s School, Yala, where he enrolled in Form One. Making an immediate impact, he played a crucial role in strengthening the school’s football team. His outstanding performances between the posts helped propel St. Mary’s Yala to the regional level in his very first year an impressive achievement for a newcomer.

His rapid rise did not go unnoticed. Golan’s consistent performances earned him a prestigious call-up to the Kenya Under-17 National Team, where he represented the country at the U17 AFCON qualifiers held in Uganda. This milestone marked a significant step in his career, affirming his status as one of Kenya’s most promising young goalkeepers.
